Decision material you can actually decide on
Good decision material makes the decision easy to take and hard to misunderstand. I help you when the material is missing, scattered or does not hold up.
Sound familiar?
Typical situations when I come in
- The decision is postponed again and again because the material is not good enough.
- The material describes one solution but not the alternatives or the consequences.
- Costs, risks and responsibilities are unclear or missing.
- Politicians or the board ask questions the material cannot answer.
- Decisions are made but cannot be followed up, because it was never stated what was to be achieved.
How I work
From situation to decision and execution
- The question to be decidedWe formulate exactly what is to be decided, by whom and when.
- Options and consequencesI produce realistic options and describe cost, benefit, risk and feasibility for each.
- Responsibility and follow-upThe material shows who is responsible for what after the decision and how it will be followed up.
- AnchoringI support the dialogue with the decision-makers, so the questions come before the meeting – not during it.
Set-up and price
Clear scope from the start
Decision material is produced as a defined assignment at a fixed price. You get a quote after our first call.
Swedish municipalities and regions can engage me through direct procurement or the ADDA framework agreement.
Not sure what it would cost for you? See what drives the price.
“Don’t hire Peter when it’s difficult. Hire Peter when it’s almost impossible.”
“Peter contributes knowledge, and I have great confidence in how he also shares that knowledge so the organisation grows in knowledge and self-confidence.”
FAQ
Questions I often get
What should decision material contain?
Good decision material describes what is to be decided, the background, realistic options, costs and benefits, risks and consequences, a proposed decision, and who is responsible for implementation and follow-up.
Why is our current material not good enough?
The most common mistake is that the material argues for one solution instead of comparing options. The second is that responsibility and follow-up are missing, so the decision cannot be implemented or followed up.
Can you write the material for us?
Yes, or work together with your officers so the competence stays in the organisation. Your choice.
How do we know whether our material holds up?
Take the free executive assessment on decision material. It takes 10–15 minutes and shows where the material falls short.
