Niklas Franzel

Niklas combines long experience of leading IT operations in a major bank with consulting assignments in finance, media and healthcare. His strength is finding the real rationale behind a task or process, challenging established ways of working and finding pragmatic solutions that move the business forward.

Senior IT roles in banking

For more than thirteen years Niklas held several management positions at SEB Merchant Banking. Among other things he was head of IT deliveries for Operations, Finance and Risk, with around 60 staff and 20 contractors, and at the same time head of IT delivery at the bank’s seven international sites. He was also responsible for IT strategy and IT security and sat on the operational risk board that approved the product offering.

Consultant in finance, media and healthcare

As a management consultant Niklas has established project governance at an investment bank and advised on the merger of two investment banks. In media he led work on production strategy and IT strategy for a management team. In healthcare he has led projects for services connecting care providers with the Swedish Social Insurance Agency and other authorities, and set up the support function for a national prescription service. Since 2026 he has run Franzel Consulting AB.

Education

Niklas studied at Linköping University.
